Tenders and procurement

• The EMM will request quotations for a product or service that will have a total financial implication of less than R 200 000, and will not extend over one financial year (the organisation’s financial year is from July to June). The department that requests the service or product, has a very limited say as to who gets awarded the quote, and must be signed of by several officials to ensure that the process is fair and transparent.
• The EMM will request the submissions of the Competitive Bidding Process (Tenders), if the total financial implication is in excess of R 200 000, or will extend over more than one financial year (the organisation’s financial year is from July to June). This process is also more involving, and includes the approval of several committees, to ensure that the process is open and transparent.
